Description

In recognition of National Public Health Week (NPHW) 2026, we explore this year’s national theme, “Ready. Set. Action!" highlighting the urgent need to move from reflection to meaningful public health action. While public health efforts have significantly improved health outcomes nationwide, rural communities continue to experience persistent disparities, including limited access to care, workforce shortages, transportation barriers, and higher rates of chronic disease.

Hosted by the College of Health Sciences and Public Policy and the Center for Impact Development, this panel discussion, "Action for All: Advancing Health Beyond City Limits” will examine the unique challenges facing rural populations and explore strategies to lessen rural health challenges and disparities in underserved areas.

Participants will engage with experts and practitioners who will share innovative, community-driven approaches to improving access, strengthening systems of care, and enhancing health outcomes beyond urban settings. We also recognize the countless workforce professionals often working behind the scenes who dedicate their lives to ensure every community can thrive. Their work is especially critical in rural areas, where the gap between need and access remains wide. This session is designed to support professional development by connecting public health theory to real-world application.

Expiration Date: 03/04/2028
