Description

The AI for Mental Health Professionals certificate provides clinicians and practitioners with a comprehensive foundation in artificial intelligence and its responsible use across therapeutic, counseling, and behavioral health settings. Through two connected microcourses, participants first build essential understanding of core and generative AI concepts, including how models learn, how prompts shape outputs, and how to navigate the ethical, legal, and confidentiality considerations unique to mental health care.

Learners then apply these concepts to real-world practice—using AI to enhance documentation, clinical decision support, reporting, case formulation workflows, and communication efficiency while maintaining a strong commitment to client safety and well-being. Throughout the program, learners explore emerging innovations and develop strategies for continuous learning in an evolving digital landscape. Graduates of this certificate will be prepared to use AI tools confidently, ethically, and effectively in support of high-quality, person-centered mental health care.
