Palliative care and hospice are important concepts in today’s ever-changing healthcare environment. In this webinar, participants will gain or enhance knowledge related to palliative care to include defining hospice and palliative care concepts, criteria, eligibility, and payment.

Dr. Amber Cook earned an ASN from Darton College in 2008 and went on to earn her BSN, MSN, and FNP at Albany State University. In 2019, she received her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Most recently, in 2022, she received an MS in Palliative Care as well as graduate certificates in Clinical Aspects of Hospice and Palliative Care and Principles and Practice of Hospice and Palliative Care from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
Dr. Cook has worked in a variety of settings, including medical/surgical nursing, mental health, administration, care management, and the emergency department. She practices as a palliative care nurse practitioner and was certified as an Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (ACHPN) in 2017. She has a great passion for nursing research and recently completed a scholarly project regarding nurses’ understanding of delirium in an intensive care unit setting.
