The Sigma Phi Nu Chapter of Sigma and the Walden University School of Nursing proudly present this series as a forum for dissemination of scholarly activities to the Walden University and Sigma Phi Nu Chapter nursing communities. Walden University nursing faculty, nursing students, and Phi Nu Chapter members are the primary target audience.

Dr. Joy Whitlatch, professor at Chamberlain University College of Nursing, is an educator and registered nursing professional with more than 40 years of comprehensive experience in healthcare settings and higher education.
Professor Karen A. Dominguez-Cancino is the Deputy Director for the Evidence-Based Health Care South America (EBHC-SA): A Joanna Briggs Institute Collaborating Group (Chile, Colombia, and Peru) and Biostatistician for the School of Nursing at the Universidad Cientifica del Sur. A public health nurse with a strong background in biostatistics and quantitative methodologies, Professor Dominguez is an expert in evidence-based practice, patient safety, quality improvement, and simulation. Her current areas of research insterest include public policy, gender equity, determinants of health, chronic diseases, and mental health. In addition, she is actively engaged in developing scoping and systematic reviews as well as clinical practice guidelines. Professor Dominguez teaches courses in biostatistics, statisitics, introduction to research methods, advanced research methods, health aquired infections, nursing administation, pharmacology, patient safety, and evidence-based practice.
Walden University College of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development through the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Provider Unit P0469.
While professional development activities offered by an American Nurses Credentialing Center Provider Unit typically satisfy the requirements of most states, Walden University recommends that participants ensure that the content offered meets their individual requirements. To the extent that contact hours must be approved within one’s state of residence or licensure, participants should check with their state board of nursing before enrolling in any professional development activity.
