Description

Christie Jenkins, PhD, LPCC-S, NCC presents this pre-recorded 90 minute webinar. Research shows that the LGBTGEQIAP+ community experiences disparities in some key areas as it relates to interpersonal violence. Social justice–based interventions are best poised to make the biggest impact for this population. As counselors, we are uniquely positioned to advocate for the most vulnerable populations. As agents of change, we have to be culturally affirming. We need to not only advocate for our own clients but involve counselors in social change at the local, state, and national levels.

What You Will Learn

Upon successful completion of this activity, you will be able to:

  • Learn about challenges for LGBTGEQIAP+ seeking services for intimate partner violence (IPV)
  • Learn how to advocate for LGBTGEQIAP+ survivors of IPV
  • Be provided with resources to better serve the LGBTGEQIAP+ community
