Nina Spadaro, PhD, LP, ACS, BC-TMH, PYT authored this pre-recorded 60 minute training. This interactive training course is designed to increase the consistency of skills evaluations by faculty throughout the program of study for all programs of the School of Counseling.

Eleven items have been selected from the bank of skills assessments that Walden’s School of Counseling administers. Five student responses are presented for each item, which attendees will place in rank order from unsatisfactory to exemplary.

What You Will Learn

Upon successful completion of this activity:

  • Attendees will analyze the impact of verbal and nonverbal elements of a student’s counseling responses.
  • Attendees will distinguish between unsatisfactory, emerging, progressing, proficient, and exemplary counseling responses.
  • Attendees will evaluate developmental levels of student counseling skills.
