Description

April Crable, PhD, Stephanie J. W. Ford, PhD, Maranda Griffin, PhD, and Jayce Patton, PhD created this this 90 minute training. The purpose of this training is to provide supervisors with an overview of the importance of supervision, gain knowledge of the qualities of effective supervision, and gain knowledge of evidence-based supervision models. Participants will also become familiar with the ethical, legal, and clinical issues of supervision and learn how to address distinct issues related to supervision.

Faculty Bios

April Crable, PhD

April Crable holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision and has research and teaching interests that include field experience, distance counseling, and supervision. She served as the Director of Field Experience in the School of Counseling at Walden University.

Stephanie J. W. Ford, PhD

Stephanie J. W. Ford holds a Ph.D., in Counselor Education and Supervision and served as a Field Director for the School of Counseling Programs at Walden. Her field of expertise includes field experience, supervision, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Maranda Griffin, PhD

Maranda Griffin holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and has held various capacities at Walden including in the Office of Academic Residencies as Senior Director, the Office of Field Experience as a Field Experience Academic Coordinator, Clinical Mental Health Counseling Core Faculty, and a Course Lead.

Jayce Patton, PhD

Jayce Patton holds and Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Supervision and served as a Field Experience Coordinator and Director for the MS Counseling Programs at Walden.

Accreditation

Walden University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 4546. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Walden University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Successful completion of this micro-course provides 1.5 NBCC clock hours; partial credit will not be offered.
