  • Micro-Course 2 Emotional Intelligence for Healthcare Leaders

    Leaders in healthcare need to understand the role of emotional intelligence in the smooth functioning of their organizations. In this micro-course, you’ll examine various tools and tests for measuring emotional intelligence in individuals, and see how the physiology of the brain is involved in emotional intelligence. The course presents the essential leadership skills of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management, and reveals strategies for improving your emotional intelligence. After completion, you’ll be better prepared to build a healthy workplace environment based on emotional intelligence principles.

  • Micro-Course 3 – Resiliency in Healthcare

    Resiliency—the ability to adapt to difficult experiences or circumstances—can be learned, and it can be modeled by effective leaders. In this micro-course, you will learn about measuring resilience in individuals using tools such as the Brief Resilience Scale. You’ll examine the internal and external factors that foster resilience, and see how leadership practices can help build resilience in teams, even—or especially—in times of crisis. The strategies for developing resilience presented in the course are especially important in healthcare, where stress and pressures can undermine practitioners’ coping mechanisms.

Criteria for Obtaining Contact Hours
