Description

Learning to Parent the Inner Child is designed to help master’s-level counseling professionals improve or implement inner child work in their counseling practice. This micro-course will help you understand current inner child work methods and terminology. Learn how to recognize in your clients the need for inner child work by understanding how to assess and determine the individual’s emotional developmental levels. Through this micro-course, you will gain the skills to execute an intervention that facilitates reparenting of the inner child in clients who have experienced trauma. You will be able to provide your clients with the support they need to heal and grow as individuals.

What You Will Learn

Upon successful completion of this micro-course, you will be able to:

  • Define inner-child work and understand related terminology, such as reparenting the inner child.
  • Assess a client’s childhood, development, and family of origin.
  • Employ interventions to help a client learn to reparent their inner child.
