This learning path can help you develop effective entrepreneurial strategies needed to establish a successful small business, explore the fundamentals of financing a startup, marketing a small business, and reviewing the legal issues involved in entrepreneurship.

With a clear understanding of common small business practices, as well as the challenges and opportunities of ownership, you can learn to generate your small business ideas, create a clear action plan to develop them, as well as match your small business goals and ideas with your existing experience, background, and resources. Learners will cover various financing options including debt and equity financing, and alternative methods of financing as well as discover how planning and budgeting can help you determine the viability of your business idea given the resources at your disposal.

  • Micro-Course 3 – Small Business Marketing

    This micro-course focuses on the topic of marketing, covering the topic of guerrilla marketing, including its limitations and applications, in addition to the “Four P's” of the marketing mix--—product, price, place, and promotion. Learners will also explore the topic of digital marketing and how it can be a significant cost-saver compared to more traditional marketing tactics, in addition to the importance of marketing planning, including identifying your target market and overall marketing strategy.

  • Micro-Course 4 – Small Business Legal Issues and Risk Management

    In this micro-course, learners will consider some of the legal aspects of entrepreneurship that ranges from the various legal forms of organization to contractual obligations, as well as consider risk management and risk management In strategies as they relate to small business ownership.
