Description

Adverse life experiences cannot be ignored. Research has demonstrated that adverse experiences impact a person’s physiological, psychological, social, and emotional growth and development. Many clients who struggle with substance use or addictive behavior disorders have complex trauma in their life stories. This micro-course offers the learner practical and relevant ways to demonstrate trauma-informed care throughout the length of treatment from initial engagement into recovery support.

In this micro-course, you will recognize crisis as an underlying cause for substance use disorder and explore it as an opportunity for change.
