Description
With advancing technology, the use of implantable cardiac devices is becoming more common in treating cardiac conditions. However, limited entry-level and continuing education resources exist for healthcare providers about this treatment method.
This interactive micro-course will cover the functions and operation of cardiac implantable electronic devices, including timing, electrical principles, pacemaker modes, lead design and function, and testing. Assessment of pacemaker function and common troubleshooting situations are also covered.

- Analyze rhythm strips for capture, sensing, and timing of cardiac events.
- Analyze pacemaker modes and codes.
- Evaluate permanent pacemakers for capture, sensing, and response to sensed events using programmers and intracardiac electrograms.
