Description

Clinical supervision has clear, objective measures to consider, such as supporting social workers in your charge, meeting the goals and mission of the agency, and upholding social work standards in ethics, diversity, and multiculturalism. Clinical supervisors are the gatekeepers for the social work profession. They need a well-formulated philosophy of supervision that reflects their beliefs and establishes a framework for an artful and intentional approach to developing supervisees. This course reviews several approaches to supervision and presents some hands-on tools for working with your supervisees. The course may meet requirements for renewal of social work supervisor qualifications and may also be used for general licensure renewal.

This 4-credit, reading-based asynchronous online course was developed in 2023 for social work professionals. The course includes written content plus optional videos, interactive activities, and links to outside resources. The course requires completion of a 26-question post-test and brief course evaluation that can be accessed from within the online learning environment. See our FAQs page for more information about system requirements. CE credits are issued for required material only.
