You will also learn about personal and organizational change, including models, blocks, and barriers, as well as approaches and strategies for effectively addressing uncertainty when encountering unexpected or stressful situations. Armed with this knowledge and these skills, you will gain confidence and become more resilient and persistent when coping with change in order to face current and future challenges.

What You Will Learn

Upon successful completion of this micro-course, you will be able to:

  • Reflect upon personal ways of approaching and dealing with unexpected events, uncertainty, and change.
  • Analyze potentially stressful situations and ways to cope.
  • Identify key aspects or characteristics of the change process (as well as blocks or barriers) and change models.
  • Recognize the connection between stress and resilience in coping with change.
  • Analyze situations/scenarios and evaluate various approaches and strategies.
  • Apply approaches and strategies to cope with change and develop resilience.

    Learn about the impact of stress in America as well as some additional coping strategies. Begin to focus on what it takes to develop resilience.

  • Personal and Organizational Change Models and Resistance

    Examine how to manage personal and organizational change. Through hands-on exercises, you will encounter various change models. This practice will help you identify possible blocks or barriers to personal and organizational change.

  • Coping With Change: Facing Challenges and Developing Resilience

    Explore four stages of reacting or responding to change, including change strategy categories (escape and control) and associated challenges. Consider how you can become more aware of your own ways of facing challenges and build your skills to develop resilience.

  • Real-Life Examples of Dealing With Adversity and Developing Resilience

    View videos of two people who experienced major challenges in their lives and how they dealt with the adversity. Create an action plan to cope with personal or professional changes in your life. Include approaches and strategies as well as resources you plan to utilize in the future.
